Sherpa Dave and I hiked for many hours today. We traveled to three separate locations in Concord, MA; The Sleepy Hollow Great Blue Heron Rookery, the Minuteman National Historical Park followed by a hike though the Great Meadow National Wildlife Refuge. We finished the day at Flint Pond in Tyngsboro to visit a VERY large beaver who was not pleased with our presence! The herons were over 100 yards away, in a swamp. With wet swampy feet and pricker bushes entangling our shins, we were able to enjoy nearly a dozen great blue herons nesting and preparing for Spring arrivals. Our Fitbits topped over 20,000 steps!
