I was given my first camera when I graduated from college, a Nikon FG 35mm film camera. I had several lenses, filters and other gadgets in my camera bag. I spent a great deal of time hiking around New York photographing nature and landscapes. I took a hiatus from photographing nature when our children were young to only snapping shots of messy children faces and special occasions, often setting aside my Nikon 35mm film camera for the easy pocket digital camera.  As our children became active in sports the pocket camera could not capture the fast-paced action I wanted.  In 2010, I received my first Nikon Digital SLR and my enthusiasm for photography was renewed!

The capabilities of the digital cameras were overwhelming! I wanted to better understand my equipment so that I could take advantage of the technology.  It's one thing to know how to use an advanced camera, but it's another to understand the art of  photography: composition, lighting, depth of field, etc. To enhance my knowledge, I completed a one-year program at Middlesex Community College and earned a Certificate in Digital Photography. I am continuing my development by participating in workshops and courses, including the New England Camera Council Annual Conference at UMASS Amherst.  I am a member of the Merrimack Valley Camera Club and the North American Nature Photography Association.

I enjoy photographing nature, landscapes, wildlife, pets, special events, sports action and casual portraiture.  My absolute passion is photographing sports, especially my own children in action!
